Harassment is described as any behavior that alarms, intimidates, or threatens another person or group. This includes unwanted physical or sexual contact/advances, following someone around a public area without their consent (stalking), or threatening to physically or sexually attack someone. If you feel you are being harassed, and feel safe doing so, please notify one of the BECAUSE 2017 Co-Chairs.
If you have been the victim of criminal conduct, and feel safe doing so, please notify a co-chair immediately and, if necessary, seek medical attention. Contact a co-chair if you need help seeking medical attention or law enforcement officers. There are also a number of local advocacy agencies in the Twin Cities, please let us know if you need help in contacting a local advocate trained in sexual violence/domestic violence advocacy (eg Sexual Violence Center hotline: 612-871-5111).
If you need to get in contact with a co-chair, please flag down a member of the Safety Squad or go to the registration desk and ask for us. If you wish to report an incident after the conference, or would like to express your concern about an incident that occurred outside of BECAUSE involving a conference attendee, you may email the BOP Chair, Leah Yoemans at: firstname.lastname@example.org
