Programming will be available throughout the weekend including face painting, story time, games, art, and quiet/rest time. Note: All programming outside of quiet/rest times will be available for youth up to the age of 13. The rest of the time childcare is for youth aged 0-11. All offerings will be in room 301 of Coffman Memorial Union.
Saturday, April 9th
Face Painting! 9:30am-10:45am Facilitated by: Anita Beal Have you ever had face paint art? Would you like a blue, purple, and pink butterfly or rainbow? There will be many images to choose from!
Queer Story Time (Suitable for all ages of book lovers) 11am-12:15pm Presented by: Jai Negri Join us for the reading of many colorful LGBT friendly children’s stories! We will engage our hearts and minds listening to stories that connect us to one another, our community, and the world. Titles include, “The Great Big Book of Families,” “Red,” “Mummy Never Told Me,” “The Paper Bag Princess,” “Black Dog,” “Hooray for You,” “My Princess Boy,” “King and King,” “Heather Has Two Mommies,” and more!
Quiet/Rest Time 3:15-4:30pm During this time, children 0 to 11 years can enjoy a break/rest. You are welcome to bring a small pillow or blanket from home.
Open In Case Of Emergency: Building a Self Care Toolkit 4:45pm-6pm Presented by: Natalie Clark When you feel down, emotionally exhausted, like you need a blanket fort or your happy place, and you just can’t even, do you know how to care for yourself? Recharge your own batteries without derailing your social life, relationship, job, schoolwork, etc? Give yourself a pep talk? These important life skills are not taught at school, unfortunately, and so we must learn them for ourselves. Join us to gather tools and resources to use when you’re in need, to help you to see more clearly when you’re out of sorts, and remember that you are important and worthy of care.
Sunday, April 10th
My Bi+ Family 11:30am-12:45pm Presented by: Jai Negri In this workshop, youth will be given craft supplies to create a picture of their family that they will get to take home. It will conclude with each person getting to share their family picture with the group. We will get to experience sharing our many different family structures in a safe and fun space!
