BECAUSE fully supports the rights to youth's autonomy and self-expression in this programming, however, we do require written permission (Click HERE) from a parent, guardian, or responsible adult for youth to participate in the conference.
Youth are encouraged to bring supportive parents/guardians/responsible adults!
All youth (aged 0-17) must pre-register for the conference to ensure access to keynotes, programming, food, and a name badge.
We have programming for a variety of age ranges. Workshops will be available to youth ages 0-13 in the Childcare Room (SC 122) throughout Saturday & Sunday, consisting of face painting and story times. Please consult the program booklet or website for more information.
Childcare Childcare will be offered for youth between the ages of 0-11 in room 122 on the first floor of the Student Center. Child care professionals and volunteers will be present throughout the conference. (All persons overseeing children have participated in a training and passed a background check.)
Due to capacity issues, childcare will be first-come-first-serve unless you are pre-registered. All parents/guardians will be required to sign the permission slip and provide caregivers with personal contact information. It is also required that all parents/guardians remain at Metro State in FH, NM, or SC at all times while utilizing childcare.
To pre-register your child(ren), contact us ASAP

Infants & Toddlers BECAUSE welcomes breastfeeding in all areas of the conference. If you would like a more private space to breastfeed, please see the registration desk for the key to the Lactation Room which is located between Founder's Hall Reception Area & Auditorium. Parents are also welcome to bring their infant with them to any workshops or use childcare at their discretion.
For infants and children still in diapers, we ask that parents return regularly to the childcare room to take care of diapering needs and be willing to come if contacted to take care of immediate diapering needs during the conference.
Please bring any bottles or food for infants and young children that they may need in your absence in the childcare room.
Lunch Times and Childcare Parents/guardians/responsible adults are asked to return to the childcare room during meal breaks on Saturday and Sunday to provide lunch for their child(ren). Snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the conference.
